All-optical phase-preserving amplitude-regeneration technology based on bidirectional orthogonal-pumped semiconductor optical amplifier configuration

The phase-preserving amplitude regeneration scheme based on the bidirectional orthogonal-pumped semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) is proposed in this work. Experimental investigation into multiple four-wave mixing (FWM) process from pump, signal and their corresponding reflective fields carried out detail. performance obtained product between co-propagating also discussed, including its dependence launch power quality, to quantify phase preserving behaviors. distortion suppressed by 2.2 dB experimentally, confirming capability of scheme. Moreover, further investigated for shift keying (MPSK) signals through simulation. According numerical results, operational parameters regenerator are same advanced modulation formats, proving robust operation SOA configuration.
